About the role
The Health Educator will be based in Lower Manhattan/Flushing Queens, New York, and will report to the Director of Health Education. The role requires flexibility to work in Manhattan and Queens sites, as well as flexibility to work weekends or nights as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, developing, and implementing community health education activities, such as workshops, radio and other behavioral programs
- Participate in community outreach events, including health fairs, to promote health practices and CBWCHC services
- Connect patients and community members to CBWCHC resources, services, and care as appropriate
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient registration for new and returning patients
- Support the development and adaptation of health education materials in various formats
- Assess education needs from patients and communities, maintain accurate records of educational activities, and prepare project reports
- Conduct translation activities, such as document or material translation and translation review
- Support the Health Education and Engagement team in special events and projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Health Education, Public Health, Behavioral Science, or a related field
- Bilingual in English/Chinese required, with English/Chinese-Mandarin preferred
- Excellent communication, written, and counseling skills
- Customer service experience preferred
- Experience working with people of various age groups in healthcare or social services
- 1-3 years of experience working in a health-related field, preferably in the Chinese and/or Asian American community

Pay
Salary: $50,000.00 - 55,000.00 per year
