About the role
We are seeking a Head of Growth Marketing to lead the expansion of Haystack News, a leading news streaming service. This role involves driving user acquisition, converting trials into paying subscribers, and ensuring the financial health of the Premium subscription business.
Responsibilities
- Paid acquisition across multiple channels: Meta, Google, Apple Search Ads, and CTV platforms.
- Drive installs and trials to achieve a CAC and payback that can be scaled.
- Own the Premium subscription funnel from trial starts to retention, focusing on LTV and payback.
- Develop and execute a test-and-learn pipeline for creative, ensuring quality and driving performance.
- Analyse data daily, form insights, and make decisions based on real-time metrics.
- Utilize AI tools to automate processes and make informed decisions.
- Manage performance marketing budgets and deliver measurable results.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to implement new signals and events for tracking.
Requirements
- A track record of growing consumer subscription/freemium products, especially in media or DTC.
- At least 5 years of experience in growing consumer products, with at least one 3+ year role demonstrating significant impact.
- Experience managing 6-7 figure performance marketing budgets and achieving tangible results.
- Experience scaling a product from zero to at least 100K new users/installs.
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable with SQL and BI dashboards.
- A quantitative degree (Economics, Engineering, Finance, Statistics) or relevant field.
- Hands-on performance marketing experience across Meta, Google, and Apple Search Ads, with an MMP and app-marketing stack.
- CTV growth experience or willingness to learn quickly, given its importance to our business.
- A strong ability to execute with limited resources, manage details, and raise flags early when issues arise.
- Background in startups or small teams, preferring hands-on involvement over delegation.
