About the role
The Head of Accounts Payable will own accounts payable and travel & expense across all Beast Industries business units — media production, consumer products, fintech, and emerging ventures — and lead the team that keeps a high-volume, multi-entity payables operation running with accuracy and control. This role owns the Ramp platform end-to-end including corporate cards, bill pay workflows, procurement and T&E workflows, along with vendor management and payment controls. The Head of Accounts Payable will lead and develop an A/P and T&E team while partnering with business leaders to accelerate the procure-to-pay cycle.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end accounts payable across all entities and business units
- Own the Ramp platform: corporate card programs, bill pay workflows, procurement, approval hierarchies, and T&E administration
- Lead, mentor, and develop the A/P and T&E team across locations
- Accelerate the procure-to-pay cycle across vendor onboarding, PO discipline, invoice processing, and payment execution
- Administer the company's T&E and spend policy, including exception management, audits, and policy iteration with Finance leadership
- Design and maintain rigorous payment controls, including segregation of duties, payment approvals, and fraud prevention
- Own vendor master governance: onboarding, W-9/W-8 collection, banking verification, and 1099 reporting
- Partner with treasury workflows on payment runs, cash forecasting inputs, and banking relationships
- Drive automation across invoice capture, coding, and matching within Ramp and NetSuite
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors on A/P, T&E, and payment control matters
Requirements
- 12+ years of progressive accounts payable / procure-to-pay experience, including leadership of multi-entity A/P functions
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or relevant certification a plus but not required
- Deep expertise with Ramp and NetSuite
- A track record of building payment controls and segregation of duties
- Demonstrated success accelerating P2P cycle times without sacrificing accuracy or control
- Experience leading and developing distributed teams with a hands-on, player-coach approach
- Strong vendor management instincts, including 1099 compliance and vendor risk practices
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with non-finance stakeholders
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving, high-transaction-volume environment
