About the role
The New Jersey Titans are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Equipment Manager to oversee all aspects of team equipment operations and support the daily needs of our players and coaching staff. This hands-on role is critical to maintaining a professional environment and ensuring the team is prepared for practices, games, and travel throughout the NAHL season.
Responsibilities
- Manage all team-issued equipment, including jerseys, helmets, gloves, skates, sticks, and protective gear.
- Prepare locker rooms and benches for practices, home games, and away games.
- Sharpen skates and perform routine equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Wash, dry, and organize team laundry on a daily basis.
- Maintain inventory and coordinate equipment orders and replacements.
- Provide a monthly inventory status report to coaches.
- Pack, transport, and organize equipment for road trips and team travel.
- Maintain player equipment and jerseys, including sewing any visible tears.
- Work closely with coaches, players, and hockey operations staff to address equipment needs.
- Ensure the locker room and equipment areas remain clean, organized, and professional.
- Communicate with visiting teams’ Equipment Manager.
- Assist with game-day setup, post-game breakdown, and other hockey operations duties as assigned.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and confidentiality while representing the organization.
- Attend all road trips unless prior arrangements are made; responsible for packing jerseys, socks, equipment, tape, and supplies (checklist provided by coaching staff/GM).
- Assist the opposing team’s Equipment Manager with equipment setup and ensure their requirements are met per East Division alignment.
- Provide laundry service for the visiting team after each game.
Requirements
- Previous experience in hockey equipment management is preferred.
- Knowledge of skate sharpening, equipment repair, and maintenance is required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and travel with the team as required.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
- Junior, collegiate, or professional hockey experience.
- Familiarity with inventory management and equipment ordering.
- Ability to thrive under game-day deadlines and changing schedules.
