  Join us for Intro to Wheel Throwing, which is suitable for complete beginners. During this 4 week class, you will be guided through the steps required to throw your own vessels. From centering clay to pulling walls, in this class you will come away knowing the basic principles of throwing.

• Cups & Mugs | 6 week course | Wednesday evenings | Beginner

  The Cups and Mugs class is for beginners and intermediates. In this class you will develop your throwing skills by making cups with and without handles. The class will go over including (but not limited to): centering clay on the wheel, throwing cylinders and other basic forms, making handles, and trimming foot rings. Over the 6 weeks, each participant will make at least one handled cup/mug and one tea bowl/handleless cup. Cups and mugs are one of the most fundamental forms in pottery, so this class will serve as a good entry point to throwing for those with no experience, and is a brilliant way to hone your skills if you have some experience already!

  Unsure of whether Wheel Throwing or Hand Building is for you? Learn the basics of both during this six week course. The process of wheel throwing will be taught, from centering the clay to pulling walls. You will also learn how to hand build through pinch pots, slab building and coiling; and during the final session you can decorate and glaze your creations before taking them home.

• Trimming, Decorating + Glazing Session | Beginner

  A relaxed session for anyone looking to finish their ceramic work. Spend time trimming, decorating and glazing your pieces with guidance and support from our tutor! Suitable for both hand-built and wheel-thrown work, this session is perfect for building confidence in ceramic finishing techniques and experimenting with surface decoration and glaze.

  Please note: Please bring along your own leather-hard or bisque-fired pieces to work on during the session.
