Responsibilities
- Assists in moving supplies and equipment as needed.
- Notifies supervisor of problems or difficulties in performing job duties.
- Monitors inventory of supplies and notifies team leader when replenishment is needed.
- Cleans out pens, paddocks, and facilities.
- Feeds and cares for livestock (goats, sheep, pigs, horses, chickens, ducks, etc.) and small animals.
- Moves and refills feed, hay, and other supplies and materials.
- Assists with the maintenance of farm structures and equipment.
- Helps with general property maintenance, including pruning plants, snow removal, and moving compost.
- Tends gardens on the property—planting, weeding, harvesting, spreading mulch, and watering.
- Notifies team leader if equipment is not working properly.
- Performs additional related duties as requested by supervisor.
- Operates equipment and machinery as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- NYS Driver’s License required.
- Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to understand instructions given by supervisor.
- Flexible; able to accept changes in job duties.
