Farm Hand

About the Role

This position is responsible for maintaining all property and fields under Company control.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on perimeter fencing as necessary.
• Report fence and field conditions to the General Manager.
• Handle grass cutting and removal from all designated areas.
• Operate the Plant Irrigation system as directed by the General Manager.
• Maintain the Center Pivot Irrigation System according to manufacturer’s standards or Company policy.
• Oversee all company farm equipment maintenance, preventative maintenance, cleanliness, and pre-trip/post-trip inspections of vehicles used.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior experience in farming, cultivation, and harvesting of hay.
• Experience with hand tools and farming equipment.
• Good working knowledge of minor equipment maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to multi-task.
• Good math skills, including multiplication and division of whole numbers.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Frequently required to move up to 100 lbs.
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
• Must adapt to changing weather conditions and flexible schedules.

Work Environment

Job functions are primarily carried out on plant property, with a high concentration of time spent on a farm tractor.
