About the role

As a Department Manager, you’ll lead your team to create an inclusive culture that supports collaboration and entrepreneurship. You’ll ensure an excellent operational and visual experience for your store, customers, and colleagues, keeping up-to-date with the fashion scene and managing your department’s strengths and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Sales & Profit
    • Ensure the total OMNI customer experience in your store, adhering to global guidelines.
    • Represent the H&M brand positively during customer interactions.
    • Manage sales and budget goals, creating plans to optimize results and profits.
    • Provide product and fashion knowledge to customers during interactions.
    • Manage your department in a cost-efficient manner.
    • Ensure correct routines in fitting rooms and checkouts, including transactions, returns, and exchanges.
    • Handle administrative tasks for both people and operations.
  • Fashion & Trend Awareness
    • Keep up-to-date with fashion trends, styles, and competitors.
    • Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge to customers.
  • Team & Development
    • Recruit, onboard, and develop your team.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and succession planning.
    • Communicate regularly with store colleagues through daily and weekly meetings.
    • Follow procedures, routines, and legal requirements in all areas of the store.
    • Participate in relevant training and courses.
  • Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution
    • Secure a clean and tidy sales floor and back-of-house areas.
    • Ensure high-quality, visually appealing product presentation and garment care.
    • Manage stock levels and allocate inventory to the area team.
    • Follow internal and global standards for garment cycles, fitting rooms, and checkout processes.
    • Secure a strong balance and maintain price signs according to global and local strategies.
    • Update and maintain BOH areas for all colleagues, including key information, health and safety, and tidiness.
    • Ensure proper opening and closing of the store daily.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to take responsibility for others.
  • Ambitious, effective communication, and a supportive nature.
  • An analytical problem-solving approach and capability to manage numbers and statistics.
  • Achievement-oriented, motivated by performance and competition, and focused on customer-centricity.

  • Compensation: expected base salary range is $23.56-$27.09 hourly.
