About the role
Under general supervision and using appropriate current technology, serves as an administrative aide to the Executive Director of Sports Administration.
Responsibilities
- Prepares correspondence, reports, notices, and other documents and word processes/types from rough draft, plain copy, or dictation using current technology.
- Responds to a large number of inquiries and requests for information.
- Maintains the Executive Director of Sports Administration’s schedule/calendar.
- Prepares requisitions and invoices.
- Prepares payroll for approximately 1000 game officials, and certain coaches and intramural instructors.
- Assists the Executive Director of Sports Administration in scheduling of games and of game officials and emergency medical technicians.
- Assists the Executive Director of Sports Administration in obtaining permits for fields and facilities for all sports and coordinating bus transportation for all teams.
- Assists the Executive Director of Sports Administration with checking academic eligibility of all student athletes.
- Assists the Executive Director of Sports Administration with keeping league statistics.
- Maintains records and files.
- Demonstrates professional demeanor and exercises good judgment, especially with regard to confidential information.
- Performs related duties of a similar nature, as requested by supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years clerical or secretarial experience.
- Proficient in word processing, email, and database programs.
- Successfully completed appropriate course work.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- City of Boston residency required.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Post secondary education or course work.
- Successful experience compiling statistical data.
