GTF Diffuser Combustor Design Sr. Engineer P3 (Onsite)

About the role
This onsite position is based at our East Hartford, CT location (400 Main St, BLDG L). U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of designers executing on key deliverables in support of GTF diffuser & combustor milestones, including executing on class I ECs, responding to field events and investigations, identifying opportunities for product improvement changes, and integrating across modules.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and interface with other disciplines including aero, durability, structures, and manufacturing.
- Execute mechanical design engineering standard work and communicate formally and informally with CIPT and program customers.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- 5 years of engineering experience or 3 years with an advanced degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diffuser/Combustor engineering experience.
- Experience in engineering activities related to products in service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with engineering standard work.
- Experience with Class I and II EC process.
- Experience with fault tree investigation tools.
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Proficiency in Teamcenter and NX.
Department Overview
Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is responsible for the design, development, technology maturation, and in-service support of all diffuser cases, combustors, turbines (vanes, blades, rotors, and cases), augmenters (military), nozzles, and associated fuel systems for all military, commercial, and industrial engine models and radial auxiliary power units. Technical disciplines in HSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Durability, and Product Definition.
Pay
The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function, associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
