Job Description

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 plus sales incentive plan. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing sales strategy to drive top line revenues for guestrooms and catered events
  • Responsible for proactive group sales
  • Responsible for group guestroom contracts & call-in blocks
  • Complete the sales process from initial sales contact through contract signing, ensuring a smooth customer experience
  • Captures and maintains relationships with key community organizations and professional associations to maintain high visibility and increase Group market share
  • Acts as liaison with other departments in the hotel via weekly meetings to provide information in a timely manner and ensure group and catering needs are carried out as contracted
  • Aids in preparation and proofing of Banquet Event Orders as needed, communicates effectively with customers, managers and associates to ensure that all room set-ups, equipment, supplies, staffing and menus meet/exceed customer’s expectations
  • Checks in with clients while on-site or in town
  • Uses Delphi to track sales efforts as well as complete & detailed notes
  • Follows up post event with Manager(s), reviews event recap notes from banquets & event manager
  • Follows up with a formal thank you to the client, continues with next steps for rebooking
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred; Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel sales with a focus on corporate group sales required
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficient in writing proposals, contracts, and budgets preferred; Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, Delphi/Amadeus, HMS, and Property Management Systems; Knowledge of products or services; Detailed knowledge of internal processes, workflows, and decision-making protocols; Ability to meet or exceed individual sales goals for their territory as determined by the Director of Sales; Skills in managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; Able to travel as needed for business within the assigned sales region; Ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders; Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively; Ability to work with accounting and operations teams to ensure correct and timely billing for groups

Additional Information

  • Work Environment & Physical Demands: Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements; No adverse or hazardous conditions; Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance
