Group Leader (Area Supervisor)

About the role

The Group Leader oversees the daily operation of production, quality, and warehouse areas. They are responsible for directing employees through production methods, processes, and equipment while promoting a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and promote a safe working environment through participation in safety audits and adherence to safety standards.
• Serve as a supervisor for hourly production employees, ensuring efficient production and meeting scheduled targets.
• Support Quality coverage by analyzing processes, disposing of materials and products, controlling non-conformance, and driving continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure equipment is properly serviced and maintained.
• Manage inventory levels, perform cycle counts, and address potential shortages.
• Oversee the definition and training of production procedures for hourly operators.
• Verify test results and compare them to drawings to ensure product quality.
• Audit production activities and finished product quality regularly.

Requirements

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with 5-7 years of experience.
• Knowledge of total quality and continuous improvement methods.
• Understanding of SPC, computer applications, process engineering/control, Lean, quality standards, and auditing.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical analysis skills.

Qualifications

• 5S and Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
• Excellent computer skills.
