Grounds- CHA Kalamazoo

Position Summary

Make sure the grounds are free of trash.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Pick up trash on grounds
• Clean out hallways
• Snow Removal
• Trash-outs of vacated units including but not limited to removal of debris, furniture, and appliances, painting and minor repair work
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills & Knowledge Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Less than 1 year of experience
• Ability to read, write, speak and interpret basic instructions, simple correspondence and present information one-on-one or in small groups.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide by 10s & 100s
• Ability to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions with common sense understanding.
• Ability to deal with problems that involve few variables in standardized situations.
• Beginner computer skills.

Physical Demands

• Regularly must stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or bend
• Regulary must lift up to 25 pounds
• Occasionally must talk or hear
• Occasionally must lift 26-100 pounds
• Rarely must sit, climb or balance
• Rarely must lift more than 100 pounds

Work Environment

• Normally works in an environment with moderate noise.
• Will be working outdoors year-round.
• Regulary must work in outdoor weather conditions.
• Occasionally must work in conditions that are wet or humid, extremely cold or extremely hot (non-weather), near moving mechanical parts, near fumes or airborne particles.
• Rarely must work in high, precarious places, near toxic or caustic chemicals, with risk of electrical shock, with vibration.
• There is no risk of radiation or working with explosives.
