Responsibilities
- Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources.
- Monitor trends and changes in grant funding and regulations.
- Develop and maintain a database of potential grant opportunities and deadlines.
- Write, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals that align with the Tribe’s mission and objectives.
- Collaborate with SMEs (subject matter experts) and/or department program staff to gather information, data, and project details needed for proposals.
- Prepare and submit grant applications and proposals in accordance with funder guidelines and deadlines.
- Oversee the administration of awarded grants, including tracking expenditures and ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions.
- Monitor timely drawdowns, in collaboration with the finance department.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, financial reports, and other required documentation to funders.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve the Tribe’s goals.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality results.
- Coordinate with finance and department program teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Contribute to a supportive and inclusive team culture.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential funders.
- Act as a liaison between the Tribe and funding agencies, addressing inquiries and providing updates on grant activities.
- Organize and participate in meetings, events, and presentations to foster relationships and promote the Tribe’s work.
- Develop and implement a grant-seeking strategy aligned with the Tribe’s goals and priorities.
- Provide guidance and support to staff in identifying and pursuing grant opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the grant-seeking strategy and adjust as needed.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a centralized database system to record all grant-related data (applications, awards, reports, and payments).
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data entered into the database.
- Generate reports from the database for management, funders, and stakeholders.
- Analyze grant data to identify trends, opportunities for funding, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations related to grant funding.
- Maintain accurate records of grant applications, awards, and expenditures.
- Conduct periodic reviews of grant-related policies and procedures to ensure adherence.
