Development Manager

About the role

I'm hiring a Principal Engineer to drive the 18-month modernization of our core product.

Responsibilities

• Drive the modernization architecture of our core product, partnering with a senior architect and me.
• Stay hands-on with code on the architecturally significant work.
• Translate user and business needs into systems, and expand on them when the requirements miss the real problem.
• Set engineering standards across the team, including how we use AIMentor.
• Team leads and senior developers by being someone worth learning from.

Requirements

• You have 7+ years of experience in software development.
• You have ownership of real architecture, not just execution.
• You have experience shipping with AI tools daily.
• You have experience translating user needs into systems.
• You have experience leading by example.

Qualifications

• You have experience with Node, React, and SQL.
• You have experience working with a CIO to partner and push back on ideas.
• You have experience with AI and its applications in your IDE.

Skills

• Curiosity about requirements and user needs.
• Ability to translate user and business needs into systems.
• Experience setting engineering standards.
• Experience leading by example.
