About the Role

The Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) is a multi-faceted agency responsible for regulating public utilities including electric, natural gas, telecommunication, and water companies, as well as motor carriers, oil and gas pipelines, and oil and gas natural production activities. The Commission’s headquarters is in Topeka, with additional offices in Wichita, Dodge City, Chanute, and Hays.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support, monitoring, review, and resources for various division programs.
  • Serve as liaison to program participants, staff, and contractors.
  • Respond to inquiries about energy programs.
  • Work with fiscal staff and assist agency staff in completing reporting requirements.
  • Perform research, associated analysis, and prepare reports and recommendations, both independently and in coordination with other staff, particularly related to federal requirements and mandates for the agency.
  • Ensure program and grant requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Six months of experience in collecting, evaluating, studying, or reporting on statistical, economic, fiscal/budget, legislative, or administrative data. Education may be substituted as deemed relevant by the agency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, tight deadlines, and effectively set priorities.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 1-2 years of auditing, research, and/or analytical experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.

Pay

$45,000 - $55,000 annually. Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications.

Monday - Friday
