Grant Manager

Building Ventures · Berkeley, CA · 2 wk ago
Management$33k–$37k/yrContract

About the role

The role starts as a three month, full-time contract. If it's a good fit on both sides and our grant writing needs continue to grow, there's a real possibility this becomes a permanent, full-time role at the end of the contract.

What you'll do

  • Get our NYSERDA reporting finalized by working through existing drafts, addressing feedback, and ensuring each one is ready to submit.
  • Own quarterly reporting on our DOE grant, working from existing scaffolding and prior submissions, checking in with us for details, and keeping us on schedule.
  • Help put together new grant applications as they come up. Take a kickoff conversation and turn it into a strong first draft.
  • Work with project managers on the side of the grant management organizations to update on our progress and manage expected deliverables.
  • Build up a library of reusable content (company background, technology descriptions, project narratives) for future applications.

What you'll bring

  • Experience writing or revising government grants, ideally for federal or state energy programs.
  • Comfort working from existing drafts and reviewer feedback.
  • A good eye for detail.
  • Comfort with technical material.
  • The ability to manage your own time and stay in touch with us as you go.
  • An easy ability to work with people and build relationships with grant program managers and Copper staff.

Location

This is an in-office role that is on site four days per week minimum. Our office is located in Berkeley, CA.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $131-148,000/year salary ($32,500-37,000 for the 13-week contract term).
  • This is a fixed-term W2 role for three months, full-time.
  • We'll provide scope, source material, and access to the people on our team who can answer questions.
  • We will provide you with a laptop.

About Us

Copper makes appliances that help homes get off gas without expensive electrical upgrades. Our first product is Charlie, an induction range with a battery inside that plugs into a standard 120V outlet. We're based in Berkeley, ship across the country, and our mission is to make electrification easier and more accessible for everyone.
