Responsibilities

  • Greet and seat guests following department greeting and steps of service.
  • Manage reservations, including calling and confirming upcoming reservations.
  • Manage waitlist by providing accurate wait time estimates.
  • Address guest inquiries and handle complaints or concerns effectively.
  • Process payments (cash, credit cards, room charges, comp slips), make change, verify validity of charges, record transactions, and ensure vouchers are properly executed to balance monetary transactions.
  • Make deposits/cash drops, complete cashier paperwork/reports, balance and secure bank.
  • Communicate special requests with management, service staff, and culinary team.
  • Assist in turning tables faster by resetting them quickly and efficiently.
  • Take to-go orders and ensure orders are packed with required condiments.
  • Support and maintain Grand Sierra Resort guest service guidelines and other policies and procedures.
  • Help maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

Requirements

  • Ability to interact with guests and team members in a tactful and respectful manner.
  • Basic reading, math, writing, and task completion skills.
  • Coordination, supervising, following instructions, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate.
  • Minimum age of 16 years.

Qualifications

Previous cashiering experience is preferred or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Demands

  • Constantly standing, frequently walking and balancing, and occasionally bending over during shifts.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 lbs.
  • Constant repetitive use of both hands and occasional light or firm grasping motions.
  • Constant use of vision abilities, including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

Work Environment

  • Work performed indoors, alone or frequently with and around others.
  • Face-to-face interactions, including verbal contact with others on extended shifts.
