About the role
The SouthState Corporation is seeking a Government Lending Resolutions Manager to join the Special Assets Department. Reporting to the Director of Special Assets, this role combines management responsibilities with direct involvement in loan portfolio management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for case resolution by the Commercial Resolutions team, focusing on SBA and USDA loan portfolios.
- Motivate and guide Commercial Resolutions Officers and the Claims Management Team to exceed expectations for case management and resolution.
- Manage the transfer, resolution, and claim submission process for the SBA and USDA loan portfolio.
- Contribute to the budgeting process and expense management.
- Evaluate the performance and production of the Government Lending Claims Manager and Specialist(s).
- Create a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Assist the Director of Special Assets with portfolio reviews, quality assurance measures, and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years commercial lending or commercial credit experience, with 3-5 years of management experience.
- Significant loan structuring, credit analysis, and portfolio management experience.
- At least 5 years of commercial workout and litigation experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Bank lending facilities, services, procedures, and practices.
- In-depth knowledge of loan workout strategies, litigation strategies, and Federal and State lending regulations.
- Well-developed interpersonal, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive credit skills, detail orientation, and proven ability to prioritize complex work assignments.
- Proven analytical skills and the ability to evaluate credit worthiness.
- Proficiency in using basic office equipment, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, banking, or related field preferred.
- Graduation from a recognized school of banking is an asset.
