GOODWILL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: Reading Classroom Aide Wanted for In-Person class in Lawrenceville

About the role

Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania is seeking volunteers to assist instructors in adult learning classrooms, helping students improve basic reading skills and prepare for GED tests.

Responsibilities

• Work with adult learners on basic reading skills, especially low‑level or non‑native English speakers.
• Provide support and guidance to students preparing for GED examinations.
• Follow directions from the classroom teacher and collaborate with other volunteers.
• Assist during scheduled class sessions.

Qualifications

• Interest in helping adult students achieve educational goals.
• Willingness to work with diverse learners, including non‑native English speakers.
• Reliability for the scheduled class times.

Schedule

Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM.
