Classroom Aide (33246)

About the role

Buffalo Hearing & Speech has openings for classroom aides in preschool special education classrooms at our Sweet Home location. Our classroom aides work during the school year and also work a 6 week summer program in July & August.

Responsibilities

• Organizing and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons and activities under the direction of the classroom teacher
• Reinforcing educational goals
• Attending to the individual needs of the children
• Following busing and breakfast/lunch program procedures

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED
• Experience: Experience working with children, or in a classroom setting and/or working with children/adults with developmental delays/disabilities
• License/Certification: Must obtain and maintain CPI Certification
• Physical Requirements:
  • Physical actions may include lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, sprinting, crawling, and running
  • Vision, speech, tactile and hearing senses adequate to perform job requirements
  • Frequent sitting/standing and when appropriate, floor sitting with pediatric patients

Schedule
