EMCOR Facilities Services (EFS) has an immediate need for a General Maintenance Worker I at Stanford Healthcare Center in San Jose, CA. The technician will report to the Assistant Chief Engineer and support key initiatives to ensure effective, efficient, and timely delivery of EFS’s services and products through a proprietary facilities supplier network.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Acts as the primary point of contact between EMCOR Facilities Services and suppliers to meet client requirements.
- Utilizes multiple trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, and HVAC to solve maintenance problems.
- Completes scheduled field inspections, including service and asset inspections, to gather feedback on supplier effectiveness and client satisfaction.
- Performs assigned work orders according to schedule and obtains necessary materials and supplies.
- Attends weekly toolbox safety meetings and utilizes mandatory safety equipment.
- Completes required EFS training.
- Performs routine maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and minor electrical work (e.g., repairing drywall, unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, repairing switches/outlets, and replacing lightbulbs/ballasts).
- Conducts preventive maintenance on systems and equipment.
- Uses technology (e.g., routing software, tablets, handhelds, and company vehicles) to drive productivity and improve service delivery.
- Estimates time and materials for repairs and collaborates with the Operations Manager to provide quotes for out-of-scope work.
- Meets or exceeds Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for safety, completed inspections, and technology usage.
- Identifies out-of-scope work opportunities and presents them to the Operations Manager.
- Fosters a positive relationship with the client and ensures customer satisfaction.
- Maintains consistent communication with Service Delivery and Procurement departments.
- Experience with ServiceNow is a plus.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree/certification in Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Two years of mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry; or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
- Background in construction-related services industries is highly preferred.
- Must possess applicable certifications, licenses, and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees.
Pay
$35/hr. - $39/hr.
