Global Key Account Manager* - Semiconductors

About the role
As a Global Key Account Manager in the Semiconductor Market within the Electronics Materials and Solutions Division (EMSD), you will tap into your semiconductor industry knowledge and network while collaborating with innovative and diverse 3Mers worldwide. You will provide value-added solutions to key customer needs, manage global accounts across a diversified portfolio, and drive business growth through cutting-edge technological solutions.
Responsibilities
- Understand industry trends and identify necessary solutions to address customer needs, communicating these to the 3M organization.
- Develop customer strategies to grow the business by leveraging 3M’s core competencies.
- Lead customer engagement and business development with Tier One Semiconductor Manufacturers, building strategic relationships with R&D teams to drive design wins and expand business.
- Partner with technical teams on product acceleration and collaborate across functions to support customer needs.
- Implement customer strategies aligned with the global division strategy to penetrate key applications, including new and existing products across the semiconductor value chain.
- Align with U.S. and global EMSD leadership to set and execute operating plans supporting business growth at key accounts.
- Create solutions for complex, multi-faceted problems through customer collaboration, innovation, and analytical skills.
- Work collaboratively across global organizations, navigating multiple geographies, cultures, and time zones.
- Use Salesforce to communicate account needs, track progress, and manage accounts to deliver timely solutions.
- Achieve sales quota and price attainment as per the operating plan.
- Comply with corporate policies, procedures, and security standards while performing assigned duties.
- Contribute to a strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture by following safety policies and identifying hazards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Science or Engineering (completed and verified prior to start).
- Ten (10) years of experience in materials for semiconductor device fabrication in a customer-facing role.
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, product marketing, and regional sales teams, with the ability to influence without formal authority.
- Two (2) years of experience facing at least one key strategic device manufacturer.
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
- This position requires driving a company vehicle, subject to pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history.
- Responsibilities may include access to information, systems, or technologies subject to U.S. Export Control Laws. Candidates must comply with these laws, and 3M will assess U.S. person status as part of the evaluation process.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Science/Engineering preferred.
- Experience in CMP (Chemical Mechanical Planarization).
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to support customers with product introductions, supply/demand logistics at key accounts.
- Hard skills: managing large key accounts, pricing, contract management.

Schedule
- Travel: Up to 50% domestic and 10% international.
- Work locations: Phoenix, AZ; Portland, OR; or Bay Area, CA.
- Relocation may be authorized.
Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $221,591 - $270,834, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. The specific compensation offered may vary based on factors such as relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and experience.
