GIS Post Doctoral Fellow
Job Summary
The Postdoctoral Fellow will engage in laboratory, translational, or clinical research under the direct guidance of a faculty member, developing skills necessary for success as an independent investigator.
Responsibilities
- Engages in laboratory, translational, or clinical research under the direction and guidance of a faculty member.
- Develops skills in a research and/or clinical specialty.
- Demonstrates potential to launch an extramurally-funded research program.
- Bridges the collective skill set in the mentor's group.
- Develops problem-solving skills in technical and conceptual components of project execution.
Job Requirements
- Required Ph.D., post-baccalaureate M.D. or D.Sc. degree or equivalent in a relevant field of endeavor.
- Research experience leading to Doctoral degree.
- Laboratory or clinical research at the post-baccalaureate level with an interest in a faculty member's line of study.
- Familiarity with basic computer, mathematical, scientific, reasoning, and oral and written communication skills as appropriate.
- Laboratory or clinical technical and/or interpersonal skills as appropriate.
Preferred Education
- Beyond minimum required, experience writing research reports concerning own work.
- Familiarity with a biomedical discipline.
- Technical and/or conceptual expertise in a relevant field.
