Genesee County YMCA Childwatch Lead

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides direct leadership for all facets of the Childwatch program. Provides a quality experience to children, families and support staff that focuses on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

Essential Functions

• Maintain friendly, positive and professional relationships with children, parents and YMCA staff.
• Project a positive image of the YMCA and the Childwatch program.
• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, evaluates, and schedules Childwatch staff.
• Cover any open shifts in the childwatch schedule.
• Aids in designing, planning, and implementing Childwatch program curriculum.
• Leads the staff, children, program space, and all activities and maintains constant visual contact with all assigned children.
• Handles and resolves Childwatch concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
• Aid in program and YMCA membership cross-promotion and special events.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age to work as the Childwatch Lead.
• High School diploma or GED required. Additional educational requirements preferred.
• 2 years' experience working with kids (0-12years).
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Employee Sexual Harassment and Child Abuse prevention training prior to start of employment.
• Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities.
