About the role
The role involves leading a team of volunteers in organizing and executing weekend programs for children at the Speer Branch YMCA. Responsibilities include planning activities, managing volunteer schedules, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute weekly children’s programs focusing on physical activity, educational enrichment, and community engagement.
- Manage volunteer schedules and ensure all volunteers are trained in child safety and supervision.
- Oversee the implementation of safety protocols and emergency response plans during program sessions.
- Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the overall quality of the children’s programs.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience working with children in a leadership capacity.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with child safety and supervision practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as education, social work, or youth development.
- Previous experience working with children in a formal setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
