About the role

The role involves leading a team of volunteers in organizing and executing weekend programs for children at the Speer Branch YMCA. Responsibilities include planning activities, managing volunteer schedules, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute weekly children’s programs focusing on physical activity, educational enrichment, and community engagement.
• Manage volunteer schedules and ensure all volunteers are trained in child safety and supervision.
• Oversee the implementation of safety protocols and emergency response plans during program sessions.
• Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the overall quality of the children’s programs.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working with children in a leadership capacity.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experience with child safety and supervision practices.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as education, social work, or youth development.
• Previous experience working with children in a formal setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
