Position Overview
Title: General Manager
Reports to: Board of Directors
Supervises: Golf/Golf Shop, Banquets/Events, Membership Sales, Course Maintenance, Tennis Facility, Pool & Fitness Center, Finance/Accounting, F&B Operation
Essential Job Functions
- Plays a key role in developing and implementing long-range and annual business plans.
- Coordinates and administers facility policies and provides supervision and support to all department heads.
- Maintains operational compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Ensures accurate recording of hourly labor and timely, accurate payroll processing.
- Serves as ex officio member of appropriate committees.
- Manages and oversees all accounting, inventory, banking, audit procedures, cash flow, and establishes controls to safeguard funds and assets.
- Ensures the highest standards for golf services and programs, golf course and practice areas, food and beverage, recreation, entertainment, and other facility services.
- Monitors the performance of all daily operations, functions and services; assures high standards and total customer satisfaction.
Experience And Qualifications
- Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classification.
- Actively pursue PGA membership (if a PGA Apprentice) in a timely manner through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA PGM) program.
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
- Self-motivated with desire to promote and market.
- Service and customer focused attitude.
- Experienced in written and oral business communications.
- Remaining up to date on customer relationship management tactics and strategies.
- Utilize the resources of PGA player development programs such as Get Golf Ready, PGA Sports Academy, Tee it Forward and others.
- Experienced computer users include Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament and database.
Compensation And Benefits
Compensation: $130,000 to $175,000 with incentives available
Benefits: Vacation, Health, Dental, and Vision Benefits paid by employee
