Lancaster Country Club is a member-owned, full-service, family-focused private club in Lancaster, PA. Founded in 1900, the Club has been a cornerstone of the Lancaster community for over a century, evolving with outstanding facilities and amenities while maintaining its tradition of excellence.
The Club’s centerpiece is the Activities Pavilion, featuring a resort-style pool complex with the Sunset Café, a youth lounge, a fitness center, golf simulators, and the family-friendly Sunset Bistro & Terrace. Members also enjoy a robust racquets program with nine tennis courts (six covered by a semi-permanent air structure from October to April), three platform tennis courts, and a racquets pavilion with an outdoor firepit terrace. Additional amenities include the Flynn Grill, Bar & Terrace, and the 19th Hole in the main clubhouse, along with popular youth golf and tennis programming.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day operations, including amenities, staff, programs, and activities to ensure outstanding service and member/guest satisfaction.
- Lead the development of a multi-year strategic plan in partnership with the Board, identifying issues, needs, goals, opportunities, and objectives for the Club’s perpetuation and viability, including master planning for racquets facilities, capital projects, and asset utilization.
- Serve as a visionary thought partner for the Board, keeping LCC at the forefront of club excellence by understanding current and future trends, demographics, and legislative, economic, and social issues.
- Set aggressive goals and objectives while balancing tradition with thoughtful modernization amid membership growth and demographic shifts.
- Oversee financial management, including preparation and management of annual operating and multi-year capital budgets, ensuring safeguards and controls for the Club’s assets with a focus on cost control, debt management, and budgeting.
- Prioritize member satisfaction through visible, engaged leadership and interaction with all facets of the membership and their guests.
- Actively participate in Board and Committee meetings, recommending and setting policies and strategies to achieve the Club’s goals.
- Lead and develop staff as a servant leader, maintaining a highly visible management style and fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and member service.
- Ensure appropriately skilled and competent departmental managers are in place and hold them accountable for performance standards.
- Promote positive, professional, and supportive relationships among staff and with the membership, focusing on retention, training, and culture-building.
- Serve as the primary two-way conduit for information exchange, engaging in proactive and articulate communication with members and staff.
- Enhance communication platforms using contemporary media (website, apps, social media, etc.).
- Oversee food and beverage operations, ensuring excellent production and service across all venues, with a focus on training, consistency, and member feedback.
- Establish and evaluate operating standards for F&B personnel, ensuring alignment with financial metrics and member expectations.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of verifiable, progressive leadership and management experience in an active, private member-focused club environment or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- A career track demonstrating tenure, commitment, and planned career progression for skill enhancement.
- Strong leadership skills in team development, financial performance, diverse recreational amenity management (golf, tennis, family activities), food and beverage programming, member/guest service, strategic planning, and project management.
- Ability to consistently define and achieve goals and objectives.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or college is highly desirable, preferably in Hospitality Management. Substantial private club or hospitality experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Industry certifications preferred but not required (e.g., CCM, CCE, CMC, PGA).
