About the role
We are hiring General Managers responsible for leading all phases of operation of a single community, multiple communities, or super-building. This includes direct supervision and development of the on-site management team, financial performance to budget, and accountability for leasing, resident relations, and maintenance functions. The position provides inspirational leadership, promotes company values, and creates an environment of exceptional customer service for residents, prospects, and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Creates a customer service-focused culture for residents, prospects, vendors, and employees; responds and resolves resident requests and concerns; leads by example to ensure a proactive approach for all key customer touch points.
- Provides leadership to the onsite team to ensure goals and expectations are achieved.
- Trains, onboards, and develops all team members with a focus on employee engagement and retention; leads, coaches, and develops direct reports to foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Manages financial performance of the property, including accountability for budget variances, input for budget and forecast planning, and identifying revenue opportunities.
- Creates and executes community strategy.
- Oversees all property operations, including leasing, maintenance, and resident services.
- Ensures the condition and quality of communities meet Irvine Company standards.
- Monitors and evaluates key community metrics, including renewal and leasing goals, NTVs, Net Promoter Scores (NPS), and social media feedback; follows up as needed.
- Ensures plans are in place to achieve company targets for key performance metrics.
- Performs audits and community inspections to ensure policies, procedures, and corporate compliance are followed.
- Partners with Irvine Company Apartment Development to ensure customer service standards and operational KPIs are met during reinvestment projects.
- Fosters collaboration and partnership with other departments within Apartments and across divisions.
Requirements
- High school diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 5–7 years of related experience with business and financial acumen, including the ability to read and interpret financial statements.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CPM, Real Estate License) preferred.
- Valid California driver’s license; must maintain continuous vehicle liability insurance as required by state law. (Regular and frequent operation of a vehicle is required.)
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; multilingual ability a plus.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Occasional travel required.
Pay
Base Pay Range: $116,100 – $151,300. Actual placement within this range may vary based on relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
