General Machinist

Location: Oxford, MS

Salary: $29.08/hour to $38.65/hour depending upon relevant experience and successful evaluations

Responsibilities

• Operates industrial machining equipment to machine parts as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery as needed.
• Performs machine tear down and repair as needed.
• Utilizes various hand tools to perform tasks.
• Uses gauges and measuring instruments as necessary.
• Perform all mechanical, machinist, and other maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Installs and fits machined components.
• Bore, ream, polish, and size large and small inside diameter holes to very close tolerances.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• One year of experience in general industrial machinist/maintenance/machine repair.
• Experience operating lathes, mills, boring mills and/or machine shop equipment required.
• Ability to interpret schematics and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of the working properties of aluminum, brass, bronze, cast iron and various steels.
• Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces and work in wet, humid, and extreme temperatures.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends as required, with primary assignment being 3rd shift (Monday - Friday 11:00p - 7:00a).

Location-Specific Requirements

• This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
• This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
