About the role
To serve as a general engineer in planning, organizing, and determining necessary policies, regulations, directives, programs, doctrine, and procedures for the establishment and maintenance of assigned Field Command (FC) programs involving USSF space/cyberspace operations.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct engineering work in support of USSF test and evaluation programs that comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
- Apply a number of diverse engineering practices, techniques, and processes in the fields of engineering and Test & Evaluation to perform work involving the application of electronics, mechanical, aerospace, and/or other engineering disciplines in support of USSF test and evaluation programs.
- Evaluate reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and prepares detailed responses.
- Ensures effective management of mission system programs to include stakeholder and mission system owner validation of requirements, including implementation, sustainment planning, and future program development.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance
- A professional engineering degree at the bachelor's level from an ABET accredited institution in (specific discipline of position) or a closely related field
- This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program
- Must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis

Skills
- Knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, and materials of multidisciplinary professional engineering to effectively apply engineering theories, principles, and concepts to areas of responsibility.
- Knowledge of the principles of planning, program management, and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
- Ability to research, evaluate, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
