This role is with Seneca Companies Inc., an OWL Services Affiliated Company. About the role

Provide direct supervision and coordination of construction or extraction crews, ensuring project execution aligns with safety standards, timelines, and quality expectations. Skilled in constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood and related materials, utilizing both hand tools and power equipment. Proficient in operating woodworking machinery and fabricating components to precise specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of construction or extractive workers (25%).
  • Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or plan procedures (15%).
  • Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met (15%).
  • Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment (15%).
  • Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities (15%).
  • Other duties as assigned (15%).

Working Conditions

  • Environment with potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, vibrations, dangerous chemicals/solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes.
  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently, including tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in the field or a related area.
  • Apprentice Carpenter or Journeyman Carpenter certification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license; state-issued CDL preferred.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of structures.
  • Good mathematical skills and mechanical abilities.
  • Ability to perform manual construction work and equipment operation.
  • Experience with computer programs (Procore, Outlook).

Skills

  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
  • Works with intermittent supervision.
  • Exercises independent judgment and mentors junior carpenters.
