About the role
We are seeking a friendly and compassionate Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team. You will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders while working alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive healthcare services and coordinate patient care
- Assess and treat patients with gastrointestinal diseases and conditions
- Work closely with a team of healthcare professionals
- Assess, diagnose, and treat residents' physical and mental well-being
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Develop accurate diagnoses and treatment plans
- Prescribe medication and administer treatments
- Provide counseling to residents and their families
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for seamless coordination of care
- Manage chronic conditions and monitor progress
- Make appropriate adjustments to care plans
- Commit to person-centered care and create a safe, nurturing environment for elderly residents
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of experience in long-term care or a skilled nursing facility
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician license
- DEA License
- CPR BCLS/BLS certified
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Completed a degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- A year of experience in Gastroenterology
- Preferred experience in documenting EMR (Sigma, Visual, PCC, etc.); training provided
- Great organizational and time management skills
- Able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and stand/walk/work on your feet up to 6-8 hours per day
