Gas Operations Technical Specialist Trainee or Specialist

Position Summary

The Gas Operations Technical Specialist Trainee or Specialist position involves operating and maintaining electronic equipment, assisting and supporting senior technicians, and learning all aspects of the job performed by senior technicians.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assists and supports senior technicians to operate, maintain, install, and calibrate electronic and pneumatic controls and measurement equipment.
• Assists and supports senior technicians to maintain SCADA system.
• Assists and supports senior technicians to repair electronic and pneumatic compressor, plant controls, and digital circuits.
• Assists and supports senior technicians to install, program, and repair RTUs and electronic measurement equipment.
• Assists and supports senior technicians to conduct cathodic protection surveys, repair cathodic protection systems, and design/install new systems.
• Assists and supports senior technicians to install new pipelines, coordinate with contractors for quality and timely work, and write/carry out capital work orders.
• Assists and supports senior technicians to provide technical support and direction as needed, stay updated on new technologies and industry practices.

Minimum Requirements

• Trainee ($34.50 - $48.23): High school diploma, or GED; two years of experience in gas delivery systems operations, including compressor control panels, automated control systems, AC, DC analog and digital control circuits, process control technology, and DOT rules and regulations.
• Specialist ($38.30 - $53.50): High school diploma, or GED; four or more years of experience in gas delivery systems operations, including compressor control panels, automated control systems, AC, DC analog and digital control circuits, process control technology, and DOT rules and regulations. Additional experience in other areas of Natural Gas Transmission is valuable.
