About the role

The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Operations Director and Development Director while gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit operations. This position assists with a variety of day-to-day office tasks that support the mission and daily functions of Abbott House Child Advocacy Center.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Operations Director and Development Director.
  • Answer phones and greet visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Aid with filing, scanning, copying, and organizing electronic and paper records.
  • Prepare documents, packets, and other materials for meetings, trainings, and events.
  • Aid with scheduling meetings and maintaining calendars as needed.
  • Support donor communications, mailings, and fundraising projects.
  • Enter and maintain data in organizational databases and spreadsheets.
  • Aid with special projects and community events.
  • Help maintain office organization and inventory of supplies.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support the daily operations of Abbott House.

Learning Opportunities

Through this position, the student will gain exposure to nonprofit administration and operations, human resources and office management, fundraising and donor relations, financial and administrative processes, event planning and coordination, professional communication, community engagement, and nonprofit leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
  • Must attach Fall 2026 class schedule.
  • Must attach a Resume.
  • Must have received and accepted a work study award for the FALL semester.

Benefits

No benefits are eligible.

Pay

Targeted hourly pay of $12.00, depending on education and experience.

Schedule

Position available August 24, 2026 through May 14, 2027. Schedule flexible around student's work schedule. 10-20 hours per week.

Travel

Not required.
