About the role

The Funder is responsible for reviewing and funding closing documents for moderate to complex loan transactions. This role requires a strong understanding of current investor requirements and TRID (TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure) regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy throughout the closing process. The Funder performs a cross-functional role, supporting multiple aspects of loan closing operations based on daily pipeline needs.

Responsibilities

  • Review loan files and closing packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines
  • Generate and issue Closing Disclosures (CDs) in accordance with TRID requirements
  • Draw and prepare loan documents in alignment with investor specifications
  • Cook with internal teams such as underwriting, processing, closing, and post-closing to resolve conditions and ensure timely funding/purchasing
  • Identify and address discrepancies or documentation issues prior to funding
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and adherence to timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Post journal entries and board loans to servicing platform

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma required
  • 1+ year of experience within Mortgage
  • Experience in the closing department of a lender
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of RESPA and TRID guidelines
  • Capable of drawing closing documents through a third-party software (i.e. DocMagic)
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and produce results
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail is a must, along with a keen eye for identifying problems
  • Strong math skills and computer literacy
  • Able to work under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to perform multiple functions throughout the day as the need arises
  • Knowledge of investor guidelines and suspense clearance for loan purchase
