Full-Time Registered Respiratory Therapist

About the role

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides therapeutic and diagnostic cardiopulmonary procedures, including ABG analysis, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, and airway maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics such as oxygen administration, aerosol therapy, airway maintenance, and mechanical ventilation.
• Conduct and interpret diagnostic procedures like ABGs, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function tests, and EKGs.
• Assess patients through physical exams, interviews, and medical record reviews to develop treatment plans.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain cardiopulmonary equipment including ventilators and blood gas analyzers.
• Participate in infection control, safety, and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment and work areas.
• Utilize effective communication to enhance patient satisfaction.
• Perform additional duties as needed, demonstrating critical thinking and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in good standing.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Minimum of 6 months respiratory care experience.

Skills

• Proficiency in respiratory assessments, equipment operation, and interpretation of diagnostic data.
• Sensitivity to patients’ diverse needs across age, sex, race, and culture.
