About the role
We are seeking a licensed registered nurse to provide comprehensive mental health and psychiatric care across diverse age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health through interviews, examinations, and observation.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and coordinate treatments.
- Provide patient education, emotional support, and advocate for patients and families.
- Document patient conditions, symptoms, and treatments accurately, including computerized data entry.
- Perform nursing duties such as specimen collection, lab coordination, and assisting with tests and procedures.
- Participate in group therapy or educational sessions and facilitate communication among healthcare providers, patients, and families.
- Follow departmental policies, safety protocols, and quality improvement standards.
- Contribute to professional growth through ongoing education and training.
- Assist with emergency response efforts and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program and licensure as an RN.
- CPR/BLS certification and ability to obtain an Aggressive Behavior Certification within 30 days.
- Experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing preferred.
- Bilingual skills in languages such as Spanish or Navajo are a plus.
- Physical ability to perform heavy work and work in environments with potential hazards, including working with combative patients and handling biohazards.
