About the role

We are seeking a licensed registered nurse to provide comprehensive mental health and psychiatric care across diverse age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health through interviews, examinations, and observation.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and coordinate treatments.
  • Provide patient education, emotional support, and advocate for patients and families.
  • Document patient conditions, symptoms, and treatments accurately, including computerized data entry.
  • Perform nursing duties such as specimen collection, lab coordination, and assisting with tests and procedures.
  • Participate in group therapy or educational sessions and facilitate communication among healthcare providers, patients, and families.
  • Follow departmental policies, safety protocols, and quality improvement standards.
  • Contribute to professional growth through ongoing education and training.
  • Assist with emergency response efforts and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program and licensure as an RN.
  • CPR/BLS certification and ability to obtain an Aggressive Behavior Certification within 30 days.
  • Experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing preferred.
  • Bilingual skills in languages such as Spanish or Navajo are a plus.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy work and work in environments with potential hazards, including working with combative patients and handling biohazards.
