About the role
A registered nurse providing professional psychiatric care within a mental health environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients with diverse cognitive, emotional, and behavioral disorders across various age groups.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and facilitate treatments, including group therapy and education.
- Document patient conditions, perform laboratory procedures, and educate patients and families on treatment regimens.
- Coordinate communication among healthcare team members, follow policies, and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Participate in professional development, administrative tasks, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with emergency interventions, ensure patient safety, and support compliance with safety protocols.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program, with RN licensure in NM or reciprocal jurisdiction.
- CPR/BLS certification and maintenance of behavior management certification within 30 days.
- Experience in psychiatric nursing preferred; bilingual skills a plus.
- Physical ability to perform heavy work, including moving patients or objects.
