Full-Time Nurse Director

About the Role

Oversees the nursing department in a skilled nursing facility, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining high-quality resident care. Responsibilities include managing staff, overseeing education, infection prevention, and wound care programs, and coordinating care plans with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Organize, develop, and direct nursing operations
• Supervise and evaluate nursing personnel performance
• Coordinate infection control and wound management programs
• Assist in resident care assessments and care plan development
• Train, instruct, and re-educate nursing staff as needed
• Handle emergency unit duties when required
• Communicate with residents, families, and care teams regarding concerns

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in New York State
• Graduate of an approved nursing school; BSN preferred
• Supervisory or managerial experience in long-term or sub-acute care settings
• Wound Care Certification and SigmaCare experience a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt flexibly

Additional Information

Experience in geriatric nursing, working with diverse teams, and managing quality care standards is highly valued. COVID-19 vaccination is encouraged but not mandatory.
