About the Role
We are seeking an MRI Technologist responsible for operating MRI machines to produce detailed internal body images crucial for diagnosis and treatment. The role involves patient positioning, safety protocol adherence, equipment maintenance, and delivering compassionate patient care.
Responsibilities
- Pre-Procedure: Review medical history, explain procedures, verify patient identity, and prepare the MRI environment.
- Conduct Scans: Operate MRI equipment, adjust settings, position patients, administer contrast agents, and monitor image quality.
- Patient Safety & Comfort: Ensure safety from magnetic hazards, communicate with patients, monitor vital signs, and provide reassurance.
- Post-Procedure: Assist patients post-scan, provide aftercare instructions, and address any immediate concerns.
- Equipment Care: Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot MRI machines; clean and disinfect the suite.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate with physicians and radiologists to ensure accurate imaging and follow-up.
- Documentation: Record patient data and scan results in electronic health records, maintain logs, and ensure data accuracy.
- Safety & Protocols: Follow safety guidelines related to magnetic fields and contrast agents, ensuring compliance with protocols.
- Professional Development: Keep current with latest technology, participate in training, and assist in mentoring new staff.
Qualifications & Skills
Knowledge of MRI operation, patient care, safety protocols, equipment maintenance, and effective communication. Commitment to ongoing education and teamwork is essential.
