Position: Full-Time Hotel Arista Lead Steward

Responsibilities:

• Implement the Standard Operating Procedures for the Stewarding department with guidance from Chefs
• Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulation and hotel requirement
• Meet with Executive Chef/ Banquet Chefs to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes, and other information pertinent to the operation
• Develop a cleaning schedule for kitchen, pastry, garde manger, banquets, cafeteria, and coolers
• Continue to keep all special event storerooms clean and organized
• Requisition and organize all products utilized in the stewarding area
• Inspect the cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring compliance with standards
• Quarterly inventory of china, glasses, silverware and hollowware from the outlets and main storage
• Create a safe and secure environment for all guests and colleagues
• Aid and assist with plate up, when necessary
• Revise standard and procedures for the department, as necessary with approval of Executive Chef/ Banquet Chefs
• Cover shifts as needed according to business levels and budget restrictions
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent education
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a luxury market. 1- 2 years’ experience in supervisory skills
• Language: Speak fluent of English, read, and write
• Schedule: Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks
• Behavior: Must be able to relate to all levels of management, self-motivator and motivate others, work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner, have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, have superior organizational skills, have mathematical skills, have computer software aptitude and some hotel operations

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to walk and stand for up to 8 hours a day, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
• Must be able to bend, squat and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
