About the role

As a Bus/Runner in our iconic venues, you'll deliver guest service and increase the efficiency and productivity of the front-of-house team. You'll assist with servicing our guests in all aspects of food & beverage service as prescribed in our steps of service, SOPs, and training guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all guests promptly with a smile and welcome.
  • Engage in conversation to cultivate regular and repeat business.
  • Verify all food and beverage items before serving to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu and daily specials.
  • Deliver food promptly and present to guests along with description.
  • Carry large trays of food through crowded areas and on stairs and operate a tray jack in public spaces.
  • Continually bus tables throughout the shift. Clear, clean and set tables within three minutes of nguest departure.
  • Setup and breakdown event spaces and corresponding stations, including moving tables, chairs, food stations, transporting supplies, placing linens, decor, etc., in preparation for service.
  • Aid with seating arrangements.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and complete assigned opening, running, and closing duties as assigned.
  • Remain present in dining areas during shift to assist servers and support guest needs.
  • Respond to concerns and resolve issues with a professional attitude.
  • Communicate daily entertainment and upcoming events in venue.
  • Clean spills, moisture, and debris immediately. Use caution signs as needed.
  • Properly dispose of all waste and recyclables.
  • Regularly clean and inspect equipment and furniture, including boosters and highchairs.
  • Report any damage or safety concerns to management.
  • Promptly report accidents, facility issues, or unsafe conditions to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated team player and self-starter.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Standard food preparation/presentation knowledge.
  • Ability to work during peak times, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to support business needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in restaurant operations preferred.

Skills

  • Speak, hear, and use non-verbal cues to communicate with guests.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods, including on uneven surfaces and while carrying items.
  • Walk up and down stairs while navigating the venue.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to and over 50 lbs., and frequently sit, kneel, bend, and reach to move goods.
  • Continually use gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills tasks such as using a computer and handling dishes.
