About the Role
As a Combination Bartender in our iconic venues, you'll keep the drinks flowing and the energy high. You'll mix cocktails, pour drinks, serve food, and deliver guest service as prescribed in our steps of service, SOPs, and training guidelines.
Responsibilities
- You'll greet all guests promptly with a smile and welcome.
- You'll engage in conversation to cultivate regular and repeat business.
- You'll prepare and serve drinks according to established recipes and techniques.
- You'll demonstrate knowledge of liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic brands.
- You'll accurately fulfill orders and assist guests.
- You'll serve food and clean and clear bar tops and tables as needed.
- You'll demonstrate knowledge of menus and daily specials.
- You'll suggestively sell to boost sales.
- You'll communicate allergy alerts.
- You'll set up, stock, and maintain work areas.
- You'll restock ice bins, beverages, kegs, plasticware etc. as needed.
- You'll proactively address guest needs.
- You'll respond to concerns and resolve issues with a professional, positive attitude.
- You'll comply with company issued steps of service.
- You'll communicate daily entertainment and upcoming events in venue.
- You'll ensure responsible alcohol service per local ordinance, alcohol awareness training, and company policies.
- You'll request proper ID per company policy.
- You'll adhere to cash handling policies and procedures, operate POS terminals accurately, handle payments securely, and reconcile financials at the end of the shift.
- You'll attend pre-shift meetings.
- You'll perform defined opening/running/closing duties.
- You'll ensure clean and orderly dining and service environments during and after service.
- You'll clean and clear bar top as needed.
- You'll follow sanitation procedures required by health regulatory agencies in both public areas and back of house.
- You'll perform inventory, product rotation and date labeling to ensure fresh products are readily available for preparation.
- You'll comply with company issues steps of service.
- You'll follow all corporate policies, safety and security procedures, and brand SOPs.
- You'll promptly report accidents, facility issues, or unsafe conditions to management.
- You'll perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- You must have previous bartending experience.
- High-volume bar experience is preferred.
- POS and cash handling experience is required.
Skills and Abilities
- You must have effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- You must be a demonstrated team player and self-starter.
- You must have extensive knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and cocktail service.
- You must be able to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety-minded manner.
- You must be able to work during peak times, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to support business needs.
Qualifications
- A State Alcohol Education Card is required upon hire.
- A State Food Handler Safety Card is required upon hire.
- A Non-Gaming Work Permit Card is required upon hire.
- A Bartenders Union Local 165 Craft Card is required upon hire.
Physical Requirements
- Speak and hear to communicate with guests and use both near and distance vision for operating the POS system.
- Stand and walk for extended periods, including on uneven surfaces and while carrying items.
- Frequently climb stairs throughout the venue.
- Regularly lift and carry up to and over 50 lbs., and frequently sit, kneel, bend, and reach to move goods.
- Continually use gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills tasks such as using a computer and handling dishes.
Working Conditions
- Restaurant/bar/live music environments, subject to both kitchen and customer areas, with large crowds and elevated noise levels.
