Responsibilities

• Conducts standardized tests on products and materials to ensure compliance with internal standards, customer specifications and international, federal and state regulations.
• Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with HACCP standards and company policies and procedures.
• Records test data such as weights, temperatures, moisture content, qualities and quantities inspected or graded.
• Applies proper acceptance/rejection criteria and marks items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status.
• Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
• Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
• Audits production facility and reviews employee behavior for proper sanitation.
• Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to Production/QA Management.
• Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities to production.
• Identifies work related problems and recommends effective solutions as appropriate.
• Maintains a working knowledge of company, government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in food processing.
• 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance in a food processing facility.
• HACCP certification
• A minimum of 1 year experience in food processing
• HS Diploma or equivalent

Work Environment

• The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance.
• Regularly required to stoop; kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
• Moves objects regularly up to 5 pounds frequently up to 25 pounds occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to distinguish shades of color to identify abnormalities and/or defects in food products.

Fulltime employees accrue vacation each pay period starting on their first day of employment, up to 112 hours per year, and are eligible for up to 48 hours of sick leave per year, in accordance with company policy.

Pay

USD $23.25 – USD $27.16 /Hr.
