Frozen Food Lead Spokane Valley, WA.
Position Purpose
Exemplifies and ensures strong customer service in all aspects of the job. Directs and controls the operation of the Frozen Department to achieve sales and profit objectives.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy.
- Train, schedule, and supervise Frozen Food workers to ensure optimum staffing patterns for the department.
- Speak with customers to resolve problems involving sales, satisfaction with service, or product and other problems related to the operation of the Frozen Food area.
- Perform daily inventory and order necessary supplies to maintain adequate inventory.
- Write frozen food order in the order guide book; check order for completeness upon arrival.
- Rotate product and remove expired stock daily.
- Replace stock in coolers, freezers, and end displays; restock end displays as per instructions.
- Unload boards received from trucks and stack on pallets or six wheel carts; push pallet jacks or six wheeled carts through store to display areas.
- Load product into cases; break down cardboard boxes and place in the bailer.
- Maintain cleanliness of display areas and freezers; clean any spills from leakage in cases or on department floor.
- Check ice machine daily and fill as needed.
- In event of a freezer malfunction or power outage, remove all items, clean out the case, and replace or restock product.
- Change signs and prices as directed by merchandising.
- May function as cashier/checker during peak times.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Inside: 95% / Outside: 5%
- Temperature Extremes: Freezer temperature may be –20° F.
- Chemicals: Seldom (mild detergents or glass cleaner).
Machines, Tools, And Equipment
Hand truck, six wheel cart, pallet jacks, grocery carts, box cutter, pens and pencils, mops, brooms, telephone/intercom, power pallet jack, big joe, bailer, scrubber machine.

- Lifting: Constantly lifts 1-20 lbs. Occasionally lifts 21-35 lbs.
- Carrying: Constantly carries 1-10 lbs. Frequently carries 11-20 lbs. Seldom carries 21-35 lbs.
- Pushing/Pulling: Constantly pushes/pulls 1-10 lbs. Frequently pushes/pulls 11-20 lbs. Occasionally pushes/pulls 21-50 lbs.
- Reaching: Constant knee to shoulder reaching. Occasional overhead and at or above shoulder level reaching.
- Standing: Constant standing while on job. Sitting allowed on breaks.
- Walking: Constant walking while on job.
- Climb/Balance: Seldom. May use step stool to reach higher shelves.
- Trunk Functions: Frequent neck rotation. Occasional bending of head, bending/stooping, twisting, crouching, squatting, kneeling.
- Upper Extremity: Constant handling/grasping. Frequent repetitive motion. Seldom forceful gripping.
- Vision: Use of peripheral vision and depth perception to move pallet jacks, carts, and six wheelers around crowded store area containing customers. Near vision used to read price sheets, product labels, etc.
- Hearing: To converse with customers, provide service, perceive questions and conduct business. To answer pages and receive instructions/information from other employees.
- Speech: To converse with customers, answer questions and conduct business. To exchange information with other employees, use the telephone or page other employees over intercom.
Pay
The pay range is $17.38 to $20.71 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
