Job Summary
The Front of House Manager supports the General Manager in the restaurant's daily operations. Key responsibilities include leading front-of-house service, coaching staff, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring high standards of hospitality.
Essential Responsibilities
- Shift Leadership & Service Execution
- Lead and manage front-of-house operations
- Conduct pre-shift line-ups
- Read the floor continuously
- Manage expediting and food running
- Inspect the building for cleanliness
- Team Coaching & Development
- Coach and develop hourly staff
- Provide feedback and recommend disciplinary actions
- Support hiring processes
- Guest Experience
- Maintain consistent guest interaction
- Address service issues promptly
- Ensure positive guest experiences
- Administrative & Operational Duties
- Prepare for shifts
- Complete closing procedures
- Support scheduling and inventory
- Communicate with vendors and vendors
- Financial Responsibilities
- Monitor and support budgeted goals
- Practice cost control measures
- Operational Support
- Support other operational roles as needed
- Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Move quickly and safely in a fast-paced environment
- Lift and carry items up to 25-40 pounds
- Reach, grasp, and manipulate objects
- Climb stairs and step stools
- Qualifications
- Prior restaurant management experience preferred
- Obtain and maintain ServSafe Manager Certification
- Obtain and maintain required alcohol service certifications
- Navigate restaurant POS, scheduling, reservation, and communication systems
- Complete required product testing
- Basic math skills and accurate cash handling
- Organizational skills and clean work environment
- Sanitation and safety understanding
