About the Role

Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Conducts store tours to provide feedback and improve performance through the Tour-to-Teach program. Collaborates with associates at all levels on store operations, technology initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, sets clear expectations, and guides teams in implementing business solutions while communicating objectives effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
  • Manage and support customer service initiatives, such as Store of the Community and community outreach programs.
  • Ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved; develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Provide process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  • Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  • Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Supervise and develop hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, and providing recognition.
  • Communicate expectations consistently and develop associates to meet staffing needs and company growth potential.
  • Coordinate and oversee job-related activities by building relationships with stakeholders, supporting business initiatives, and measuring progress.
  • Identify and address improvement opportunities, demonstrate adaptability, and promote continuous learning.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Support the Open Door Policy and provide guidance on applying these standards in business processes.
  • Foster a culture of belonging by building high-performing teams, embracing diversity, and creating opportunities for associates to thrive.
  • Work collaboratively, build trusting relationships, and communicate with impact to motivate and influence teams.
  • Attract and retain talent, empower and develop associates, and recognize contributions and accomplishments.
  • Maintain high standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance; support Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR
  • 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.

For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities that sell only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.

Associates must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

PTO/PPTO amounts depend on job classification and length of employment, meeting or exceeding paid sick leave laws where applicable.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses, Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments, Complex Structure adjustments, and state pay differentials where applicable.
