About the role
The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Unaccompanied Housing; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); CNRNW Naval Air Station Whidbey Island.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Military's Quality of Life programs by answering questions regarding housing facilities.
- Provides quality customer service for all internal and external customers, maintaining a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
- Maintains guest security and privacy.
- Handles customer complaints and refers to managers or higher authorities as necessary.
- Answer phones professionally and transfers calls appropriately.
- Verifies eligibility and ensures unit or room assignments are made according to the Unaccompanied Housing Operations Manual and local policy.
- Executes and documents room transfers, assigns residents for optimal use, and records check-in/check-out transactions accurately.
- Maintains inventory of keys, keycards, and supplies, and provides new residents with linen sets and welcome information.
- Facilitates new resident orientations and resolves issues reported by residents.
- Enforces UH guest and visitor policies and ensures proper supervision of non-residents.
- Keeps the front desk and lobby area clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of hospitality operations and related goals, principles, and standards.
- Skills in using Microsoft Office programs and providing excellent customer service.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Ability to independently manage lodging operations and compile data for reports.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Education
This position does not require formal education.
Additional Information
This position involves work on weekdays and may include weekends and holidays. Selectees may be required to work overtime, including emergency shifts. Possession of a valid driver's license may be required due to travel needs. Candidates must have one year of practical work experience in customer service, preferably in the hospitality field. Successful completion of a National Agency Check is required.
