Front Desk Associate

About the role

The Front Desk Associate role at Planet Fitness involves providing a superior level of customer service to members, guests, and fellow PF team members. Responsibilities include greeting members and guests, assisting with inquiries, resolving concerns, performing membership functions, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club
• Assist with any questions or concerns as they check in
• Promote the Judgement Free Zone by connecting with members and offering support
• Resolve member concerns and escalate to a Manager if necessary
• Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with their inquiries
• Perform membership-related functions such as sign-ups, cancellations, and transfers
• Execute prospective member calls and tours, assessing their membership needs
• Ensure restrooms are clean and sanitized, stocked, and clutter-free
• Conduct a comprehensive walk of all club areas to address safety/policy issues and cleanliness concerns
• Address maintenance and facility concerns promptly
• Perform regular cleaning and sanitizing of all exercise equipment and Black Card spa amenities

Requirements

• 6-12 months of experience in a customer service environment is preferred
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Willing to become CPR/AED Certified (Training provided by Planet Fitness)
• Basic computer proficiency
• Physical demands include continual standing, moving, lifting up to 75 pounds, and frequent cleaning and sanitizing

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Will encounter toxic chemicals during shift
• Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities
• Moving self in different positions, including bending and twisting, to accomplish tasks

Skills

A positive and upbeat attitude, a passion for delivering an exceptional experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to listen and empathize are essential. Quick learning and the ability to apply what is learned during training are also important.
